Clever Counsel #1 - Are newsletters worth a damn?
I’ve never been the biggest fan of newsletters.
Too often they’re too long, crammed full of bells and whistles, visually overwhelming, and much more focused on the writer than the reader.
When I do read newsletters, I usually favor the simple, short, text-only missives that come straight from the mind and hand of people I admire. Jonathan Stark, David C Baker and Seth Godin all come to mind.
I’m going to try to make Clever Counsel worth your time.
Every Wednesday I’ll send you something, written specifically for you - my fellow independent consultant.
Sometimes it will be a little story or lesson learned from my last 10 years in consulting.
Sometimes it will be a tough love reminder about your positioning and the importance of standing out in an exceedingly crowded consultant marketplace.
Sometimes it will be a few tips for building your pipeline, growing your audience or booking more calls.
Sometimes it will be a short poll to capture your insights about what’s working and what’s not when it comes to the business of being a consultant. When I send those questions, I’ll aggregate the data and share it here as well - so we can all learn from each other.
Each week, something a little different.
But always short and simple. Hopefully helpful. And most of all, human.
